Ballad of the Tipperary Inn
Ah, yes...the piece de resistance of any live set at the Tipperary Inn!! This song celebrates the Dallas pub we all love so well...and we made it nice and long, with a chorus we sing 11 times, it will stick in your mind forEVER.. We've included footnotes to give you a hint as to the deep, cosmic meaning behind this song. (Quit laughing, dammit!! There's meaning here, somewhere...we think...)

On  a cold Dallas day[1] in July 2003
They closed the doors at Skillman at Live Oak [2]
No more fun, no more craic, all the beer has gone flat
Upon that day, our dreams went up in smoke

They say the bars are great on Greenville [3]
And you can have a good time on Harry Hines [4]
But there's one place we all know where all the true Celts go
For the music and the best craic[5]of all times

[chorus]
The Tipperary, the Tipperary,
Buy a pint, raise your glass, and drink it down
There'll be a dram[6] for every lad and a lad for every lass
Drink a toast to the greatest pub in town

May you always have a full pint of Guinness
And may your glass of merlot ne'er run dry
I'll take a Celtic kiss[7] for its pure unfettered bliss
And we'll drink another round if you will buy
[chorus]

Well, Tim is  in the kitchen drinkin' coffee [8]
And Dutch is on the porch havin' a beer
And we're not sure about Tudor
'Cause that Tudor, he's a schmoozer
But we know the bar is open, so he's here
[chorus]

[to the tune of "I'll Tell Me Ma"] [9]
I'll tell me Ma, when I come home, the boys won't leave the beer alone....at [chorus]

[to the tune of "The Mermaid"]
And the Guinness it will flow, and the girls will drink merlot
And we poor drunkards, we never more will stop, while the teetotalers they all
Stay home, stay home, stay home, while the teetotalers they all stay home...from
[chorus]

[to the tune of "Wild Rover"]
I've been a pub crawler for many's a year...but then the Tipp closed, no more whiskey or beer
Now it's reopened, my budget is blown, and if they stay open, I might never go home...from
[chorus]

[to the tune of "The Unicorn"]

We've had eight pints of Guinness, and lots of great grub, we're havin' fun playin' at our favorite pub
Hey lads and lasses, I'll tell ya where we'll be; down at the Tipperary
[chorus]

[to the tune of "Gilligan's Island"]
Come sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip
It started with a search for a pub, and ended at the Tipp
[chorus]

[to the tune of "Danny Boy," operatically, with extreme schmaltz]
Oh, Danny Boy...the single malt is flowing....at
[3x chorus, ad nauseum...]

1: Dallas. July. Cold. Ha! 2: Location of the Tipperary Inn in Dallas, just in case you can't find it. 3: The party street of Dallas. 4: Where to go for illict pleasures in Dallas. Not that we approve of such goings on, mind. 5: Pronounced "crack," Irish for "good time." 6: Measure of whiskey.
7: A devastatingly yummy cocktail. 8: The owners of the Tipperary. Not that we're sucking up here...9: The last part of the song is where we take beloved traditional pub songs and twist them for our own nefarious purposes. Not like we were drinking when we wrote this or anything...
