Hills of Connemara
We've been to Connemara...and you could easily hide anything you want in those hills!
Very wild and very beautiful, it's breathtaking terrain.

On the album, we have this arranged with a samba beat...Linda says this is what happens when you're Mom is from Trinidad, and you arrange a song on your front porch while the Mexican neighbors are working on their cars and listening to tejano music. World-beat, ahoy!

chorus:
Gather up the pots, and the old tin can; the mash, the corn, the barley, and the bran;
Run like the devil from the excise man, keep the smoke from rising, Barney

Keep your eyes well peeled today, the excise men are on their way
Searching for the mountain tay in the hills of Connemara
[chorus]

Mountain breezes as they blow, hear their echo in the din below
The gombeen men are on the go in the hills of Connemara
[chorus]

Swing to the left and swing to the right, the excise men will dance all night
Drinking up the tay 'til the broad daylight in the hills of Connemara
[chorus]

A gallon for the butcher, a quart for Tom, a bottle for poor old Father Tom
To help the poor man's prayers along in the hills of Connemara

[chorus]

Stand your ground, boys, it's too late, the excise men are at the gate
Glory be to God, for they're drinking it straight in the hill of Connemara

[chorus]
